There are very few bands today that can deliver the entertainment punch of The Press
Not only are they some of Las Vegas' finest musicians; their repertoire, showmanship and performance enthusiasm are absolutely compelling!
When Marty Mahoney established the band back in 1986, his goal was to entertain audiences by giving them exactly what they wanted. A large order, considering the diversity of musical tastes represented in a typical Las Vegas audience. Nevertheless, by constantly enhancing and refining the band's repertoire, they achieved a musical diversity seldom seen anywhere in the music industry. Not only do they play a multitude of musical styles and genres, they play them all exceptionally well.
With seasoned musicians like Katsumi Yamagishi (Yamaha's International Music Division for Keyboards & Piano; keyboard player for Al Jarreau; musical director Denise Clemente: etc.),Clark Edson (Bassist for Mickey Rooney and numerous Las Vegas showroom performers), Chris Mahoney (Long time showroom guitarist for The Carpenter's, Platters & Drifters; guitarist for Paula Shore; master guitar technician), and Marty Mahoney (Long time showroom drummer for Redd Foxx and Louis Prima), The Press' rhythm section is without equal.
Of course, no band can be truly successful without an accomplished front man. In The Press he is known as THE SLAYER.
Riano McFarland is an absolute anomaly when it comes to Las Vegas entertainers. Charismatic, energetic, and elegant, Riano's dazzling smile lights up the room long before his first note reaches the audience. He walks out onto the stage and takes immediate control of the crowd.
Then there's the voice. Powerful yet subtle. Smooth yet absolutely precise. His voice possesses a warmth and a resonance that unerringly pierces the soul and totally mesmerizes the audience. Whether he is performing a smooth jazz number, a sultry ballad or an adrenalin pumping dance song, his vocal inflection and presentation are always right on. He always seems to sense what the audience is longing to hear and instinctively calls the right songs. Whatever Riano sings, he injects with pure emotion and as a listener you fell what he feels.
But, it doesn't stop there. The amount of energy he pours into his performnces is extraordinary! Continuously dancing on the stage, frequently interacting with and generating a sort of frenzied euphoria among the audience, he can pound out a battery of high-energy dance tunes that leaves both himself and the audience winded and satisfied.
As Las Vegas' only electric washboard player, Riano shows true diversity as a muscian, able to authentically perform Cajun and Zydeco music unlike any other entertainer in the city.
If you are like many of the people who witnesses Riano'samazing performance, you will likely want to know how he does it. Getting an answer to this question is rather simple. After each performance, Riano makes it a habit to go into the audience and speak to virtually everone in the room. There you can feel his warmth and sincerity first hand, and get a true sense of this awesome entertainer.
The professionalism and experience of The Press' combined with the amazing talents of Riano McFarland make them unique in the entertainment industry. They are perfect for showrooms, conventions, receptions, special events and parties of all kinds, and are guaranteed to satisfy audiences of all ages and from all walks of life.
